Dan Jerzak – 2022 Corporate Campaign Contributions Final Order
In a September 21, 2022 final decision, a Minnesota Office of Administrative Hearings panel found that Dan Jerzak violated state campaign law by accepting 16 prohibited corporate contributions totaling $9,300—nearly all of the $9,770 reported by his campaign before the Brooklyn Center primary. Although Jerzak said he relied on repeated guidance from the City Clerk and refunded the contributions after the complaint was filed, the panel found that the funds supported campaign printing and media expenses, created a significant unfair advantage, likely affected voters, and undermined the electoral process; it imposed a $1,200 civil penalty.
